Spiced Pomegranate & Orange Glazed Ham
Summer is almost upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with a bright and festive pomegranate and orange glazed ham. Christmas never smelt so good!

What you’ll need
INGREDIENTS
- 1 SunPork Fresh Foods Half Leg Ham
- 1 cup marmalade jam
- ½ cup Dijon mustard
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup pomegranate molasses
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 cinnamon quills
- 3 star anise
- 2 Tbsp. orange zest
- 3 oranges, juiced
- 2 oranges, peeled and thinly sliced
How to make it
- Pre-heat fan forced oven to 150⁰C.
- Prepare the ham by carefully removing the rind, keeping as much of the fat on as possible. Score the fat in a diamond pattern about 1cm deep and wrap the bone end in foil to protect it from burning.
- Prepare glaze by combing marmalade, mustard, sugar, pomegranate, soy sauce, cinnamon, star anise, orange zest and orange juice to a saucepan and simmer over med. heat until it starts to thicken.
- Place ham onto a rack to elevate it off the baking tray and pour boiling water into the bottom of the tray.
- Baste with glaze and place into the oven for 2 hrs.
- Continue to baste the ham every 10-15 mins, rotating the ham to ensure even colouring.
- With 1hr remaining. Place slices of orange over the top of the ham and continue to baste.
- Remove from the oven, brush with glaze and allow to stand for 15 mins.
- Serve and enjoy!
