What you’ll need
INGREDIENTS
- 1kg SunPork Fresh Foods Pork Mince
- 1 pack Three Aussie Farmers Farmhouse Style Sausages, casings removed
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ Tbsp. salt
- ¾ Tbsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. fennel seeds
- ¾ cup apple, finely diced
- 4 sheets puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. black and white sesame seeds
How to make it
- Preheat fan-forced oven to 180°C.
- In a large fry-pan over a low-med. heat add oil, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, fennel seeds, and apple. Cook for 7 mins until the apple has softened, then set aside and let the mixture cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine the pork mince and sausage meat. Add the apple mixture, then mix until combined. Cover and refrigerate e for 1 hour until firm enough to handle.
- Place the mixture in the middle of a sheet of pastry and mould into a sausage shape. Cover with pastry, making sure to seal the edges well. Brush all over with egg, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Create 3 small slits in the top of the pastry, place in the oven and cook for 45 mins, or until the internal temp reaches 70°C and the pastry is golden brown.
- Serve with tomato relish and enjoy!
