Bacon Jam Cheese Toastie
Dan & Steph have crafted an irresistible Bacon Jam Toastie that tantalises the taste buds. This simple masterpiece features a luscious bacon jam layered between perfectly toasted golden bread.

What you’ll need


  • 6 SunPork Fresh Foods Bacon Rasher
  • 1 brown onion, diced
  • 50g butter
  • Parmesan cheese, grated and to taste
  • 4 thick sliced bread
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. dried thyme
  • 1 Tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 30ml espresso
  • ½ cup mozzarella

How to make it

  1. To make the bacon jam filling use a fry-pan over med-high heat, cook bacon and onion for 5 mins.
  2. While it’s frying, butter the outside of your bread and sprinkle with parmesan cheese then set aside.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients except the mozzarella cheese into the pan with the bacon and cook until sauce becomes thick.
  4. Transfer the bacon jam filling to the bread. Add mozzarella cheese follow by another helping of the bacon jam filling. Top off with bread.
  5. Place into your sandwich press and toast for 5 mins or until golden brown.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
