Pork & Prawn Toast

What you’ll need
INGREDIENTS
- 300g SunPork Fresh Foods Shoulder, diced
- 300g green prawns, peeled and deveined
- 1½ Tbsp. Chinese five spice powder
- 1 Tbsp. sesame oil + extra to serve
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. Chinese cooking wine
- 1 tsp. sugar
- ½ tsp. ground white pepper
- 1 egg
- 10 slices white bread
- Sesame seeds
- Vegetable oil, for frying
How to make it
- In a large bowl, place pork, Chinese five spice powder and 1 Tbsp. sesame oil. Mix until evenly coated then marinate for 10 mins.
- Transfer all ingredients except the bread, sesame seeds and oil into a food processor. Blend for 3 mins, then stir and blend for a further 3 mins or until you achieve a paste consistency.
- Spoon 2 heaped Tbsp. of the mixture onto a slice of bread and spread right to the edge.
- Pour sesame seeds onto a flat tray or plate. Take the bread and press firmly, meat side down into the sesame seeds.
- Heat a large deep pan with 2-3cm of vegetable oil to 180C.
- Fry the bread meat side down for 3 mins. Flip and fry for a further 2 mins.
- Remove from the heat and allow to drain on a cooling rack.
- Serve with a drizzle of sesame oil and enjoy!
