INGREDIENTS
300g SunPork Fresh Foods Shoulder, diced
300g green prawns, peeled and deveined
1½ Tbsp. Chinese five spice powder
1 Tbsp. sesame oil + extra to serve
3 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 Tbsp. Chinese cooking wine
1 tsp. sugar
½ tsp. ground white pepper
1 egg
10 slices white bread
Sesame seeds
Vegetable oil, for frying
How to make it
In a large bowl, place pork, Chinese five spice powder and 1 Tbsp. sesame oil. Mix until evenly coated then marinate for 10 mins.
Transfer all ingredients except the bread, sesame seeds and oil into a food processor. Blend for 3 mins, then stir and blend for a further 3 mins or until you achieve a paste consistency.
Spoon 2 heaped Tbsp. of the mixture onto a slice of bread and spread right to the edge.
Pour sesame seeds onto a flat tray or plate. Take the bread and press firmly, meat side down into the sesame seeds.
Heat a large deep pan with 2-3cm of vegetable oil to 180C.
Fry the bread meat side down for 3 mins. Flip and fry for a further 2 mins.
Remove from the heat and allow to drain on a cooling rack.
