What you’ll need
INGREDIENTS
- 1kg SunPork Fresh Foods Boneless Pork Shoulder
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp. garlic salt
- ½ tsp. Chinese five spice powder
- ¼ tsp. white pepper
- ½ tsp. sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp. Chinese rice wine
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. hoisin sauce
- 2 tsp. red bean curd
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 Tbsp. molasses
- 6 drops red food colouring (optional)
- 1 bok choy, grilled
- 2 cups jasmine rice, cooled
How to make it
- Prepare marinade by mixing sugar, garlic salt, five spice, pepper, sesame oil, Chinese wine, soy sauce, hoisin, red bean curd, garlic, molasses and food colouring in a bowl. Marinade pork for a minimum 2 hrs, or ideally overnight.
- Pre-heat fan-forced oven to 200⁰C.
- In a baking tray with a rack, add 50ml of water. Remove pork from refrigerator and place pork on the rack. Reserve marinade.
- Bake for 45 mins, basting every 10-15 mins with remaining marinade and rotating for even colouring.
- Remove from the oven and rest for 10 mins before slicing.
- Serve with steamed jasmine rice and grilled Asian greens.
