Simple Barbecue Pork Ribs

What you’ll need


  • 1 SunPork Fresh Foods Meaty Loin Rib Rack
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp. onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp. sweet smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cracked black pepper
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 2 Tbsp. American mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

How to make it

  1. Prepare ribs by removing the membrane from the bone side of the rack.
  2. In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper, then rub over both sides of the rack of ribs, cover and refrigerate for 1 hr.
  3. Pre-heat fan forced oven to 150⁰C.
  4. Place ribs onto a lined baking tray uncovered, bone side down and bake for 1 hr 30 mins.
  5. In a saucepan over med-high heat, combine tomato sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, honey, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to the boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer to thicken.
  6. Brush ribs with sauce, cover with foil and return to the oven for 30 mins.
  7. Baste ribs again, the return to the oven uncovered for 15 mins.
  8. Remove from the oven and baste a final time, then allow to rest for 10-15 mins before cutting into single ribs.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
