Yes it’s true – BaconFest is coming to Kingaroy for a second time running – brought to you by SunPork Fresh Foods! Prepare yourselves for three days of bacon fueled deliciousness from the South Burnett Region. If you thought last year was amazing, wait until you see what’s in store for you this time around!

SunPork Pork Pit


Are you a lover of hot and crunchy loaded gems? Come see us at our Pork Pit ????. We’ve got two amazing options for you – both with, yes you guessed it, bacon! If that isn’t yummy enough, we’ll also have a seven tiered chocolate fountain with deep fried bacon sticks for dipping *drool*.


Take a photo at our Pork Pit and share it on your social with #sunporkporkpit for the opportunity to win a SunPork goody bag! If you’re after our infamous piggy socks this will be your chance to get your hands, or more like feet, on a pair!

SunPork Swig & Swine  


In the bacon spirit, we’ve only gone and carried out the bacon process on our already impressive whole hog – taking it to a whole other level. Yep we know – genius! Our SunPork bacon cured spit pig will be roasted with a beautiful maple glaze, and to go along with it we’ll also be serving delicious cheese boards, artisan breads and chutneys.


For our Swig & Swine deck, we’ve partnered up with an amazing local winery called Kingsley Grove owned by husband and wife duo, Simon and Jo Berry. With their family name it’s no wonder they have a passion for producing wine from berry to bottle! Along with a range of their wines, we’ll also be serving beer and cider, so there’s something to suit everyone.

So come on down to our Swig & Swine deck and grab a plate of pork and a glass of wine – you won’t want to leave!




SunPork Smoke Off


As part of BaconFest, we’re also hosting an official round of the Australasian Barbecue Alliance Championship Series, called the ‘SunPork Smoke-Off’. We have 42 teams ready to battle it out for our hefty $14,000 prize money and trophies in a range of categories: ‘Pork Ribs’, ‘Pork’, ‘Beef’ and ‘Chicken.’ This year, we’ve also got a  special category for local BBQ teams of the South Burnett region.

Make sure you take time to check out what our amazing teams are cooking up – drooling over delicious meat can be expected. You might even pick up a few tricks to try at home!

SunPork Wine & Swine (TICKETED EVENT)


Catered by South Burnett chef Roberta Schablon, the evening feast will celebrate the Year of The Pig’ with grazing tables laden with delicious pork dishes that utilise the best produce of the South Burnett region. Long Table Breakfast (TICKETED EVENT)


The Long Table Breakfast is an exclusive dining experience that will be held on Saturday 24th August, right before the festival opens up to the public. Enjoy a scrumptious bacon filled breakfast created by celebrity chef Adrian Richardson and local produce champion Roberta Schablon. Adrian will also be available to answer your questions and introduce you to the people who grow some of the South Burnett’s most amazing produce. Get tickets here.
